On the other hand, XRP’s utility stems far and away from just on demand liquidity, banking and cross border payments. The XRPL is battle tested for the last 10 years and as seen with Colombia, the NFT core business model with sectors like Real Estate are utilizing XRPL to mint land title NFT’s.
At least with physical gold, it can be turned into jewelry and other valuable tangible products.

just_Hodl_BTC Can you just stfu about xrp on every BTC post? No one who invests in BTC cares about how much better xrp is. We arent gonna buy it. I use BTC because it isnt created by a single corporation with the bankers dicks in their mouths like Xrp has. Corrupt greedy bankers are the very reason BTC was created. Im born and raised in Africa and i use BTC for payments. I dont care if it takes an extra minute for the payment to go through, segwit has made payments cheaper and faster than the last time you used BTC, clearly. ()
chris2940 XRP is a fucking joke dude. It's a valueless chain with absolutely no utility. It's permissioned, it's centralized, it's not trustless...it literally fails all three traits desired in a cryptocurrency. XRP is a CBDC.
Validators are basically chosen by Ripple themselves and they have full control of the network and block production process. Even if they didn't....there are no transaction fees! Therefore no incentive to produce honest blocks, therefore no network security, therefore a trusted environment, no different than with a bank.
No Tx Fees also means no revenue. The chain is absolutely worthless, and I am not saying that as an insult, I mean it in the most literal sense possible...it does $0 in annual revenue regardless of how many people use it.
Why on earth would you knowingly invest in an asset that we know for a fact will never yield a single penny? Would you invest in a publicly traded company if you knew you'd never get a dividend payment from them, ever?
There are 2 simple answers to that question:
1) No, it's worthless, that would be stupid.
2) Yes, I'll still make money off it by selling it to someone else later down the road at a higher price even though it's worthless
