Haha in all of my 5 years in crypto I don’t remember ANY networks ever having to totally shut down, EVEN ONCE. How many times has Solana network been offline this year already? Was it 3 or 5 times? I’m losing count…..
Solana VCs are obviously ‘putting the cart before the horse’ here. It’s an unfinished product that’s been rushed to market with the help of heavily funded advertising campaigns and paid endorsements to B-list celebrities, YouTubers and TikTok influencers. It’s marketing schemes are clever and well funded, but unfortunately some aspects of the tech are still far far behind.
In other words - It’s all tits and no gee :/

I don’t claim to know what’s best, but for sure scandalous, centralised projects like this are the biggest liability to global adoption of decentralised P2P cryptocurrencies.

kevin1385 Wow. Just wow. Makes ya not want to invest in SOL. that’s for sure. I’m doing to start doing a lot more research before I invest in alt crypto projects. I’m not even sure what’s going to happen with Ethereum Anymore. After the merge all their miners will be leaving and they won’t be fixing the fee issues so I don’t see much changing for the better other than they now get to say they’re a green blockchain.
manlikegazz Cardano and Iota are two altcoins which I definitely recommend researching (if you haven’t already).

WalkInThePark SOL is different from SLND. Its like not investing in ETH because AAVE fucked up. Don't get me wrong there may be plenty of reasons not to invest in SOL but this aint one of them,
WalkInThePark FYI, this could happen to any DAO Governed DAPP and especially a lending platform. Just be careful out there no matter what chain when messing with defi. This is going to happen again.

citizen_5general I think you are spreading so much FUD because maybe it’s in your interest…it’s better to have a blockchain which halts sometime (i think it’s a total of 6 times spanned in 5 years) that having a blockchain like erhereum which cost like hell for stupid transaction and the only time the cost is low or reasonable is when you don’t need to use it, basically the same utility of a clown. Also i suggest to read the blog about how Solana intend to mitigate the halting problem with 3 solutions proposed in their blog
