MisterZ Yes it does..... I'll give you some examples. Ledger wallet, Trezor wallet. These are hardware where you keep your coins offline, and you manage your own private keys. You are in total control and no one else. Now I'll give you some examples of wallets that are apps you can download on your phone and some on your computer and manage your own private keys. Electrum, Exodus, Coinomi, mycelium, and there are many more. I have been managing my own crypto for some time now. All of the above are self custody. ()

kaspars Educate yourself better as well and stop spreading nonsense, @rastacrypto is partially right. You're mixing two separate things as one. Security and Complete Privacy. Trezor/Ledger gives you ability to keep your private keys secure and sign transactions and messages completely offline. Now, when it comes to verifying incoming transactions or broadcasting already signed transactions you can use trezor nodes or to protect your privacy completely can use your own nodes or you can verify in 10 different explorers if you don't trust previous ones.
So in terms of custody, even if you use trezor nodes, they can't take your funds. Period. Two things that might be leaked is your IP address and Xpub, but non of those add any risks of assets to be stolen. And opposite - just by running your own nodes doesn't give you full custody. Running safe wallets, cold storage solutions does that.

joey78 I never said they can take your funds, leaking xpub trezor nodes know how much the seed is holding totally, and if you leaked your IP then the feds can come knocking on your door to get that key, and if you talking about securiry and devices u cannot compare trezor to coldcard, I create my transactions on Electrum connecyed to one of my nodes, then I sign my transactions on a air gapped pc and the signed tx comes back to the electrum using an sd card and then it is broadcasted using the wallet, but i still guess i dont know what i talk about.

kaspars Solution you mentioned sounds secure. My objection was on your obsession on "full custody" meaning and obsession on running own nodes. Trezor gives you full custody, but might be leaking privacy which can be easily solved using Trezor + TOR (Tor Switch is now built in Trezor Suite) or can be also solved with Trezor + Electrum and own node combination.
Another great use case of Trezor and other cold storages is to use passphrase, basically like 25th word which you don't write anywhere and remember it. By entering different passphrases it gives you access to different wallets, so you can have multiple ones and in worst case scenario if you have a gun to your head you can specify the one where are the least funds.
PS. xpub is not being leaked, trezor requests balances by addresses.
